Cetylated Fatty Acids(CFAs)

Cetilar® is a mixture of different cetylated fatty acids (CFAs), obtained from the esterification of fatty acids with cetyl alcohol. All the fatty acids used in Cetilar® composition are of vegetable origin.

CETYLATION INCREASES TRANSCUTANEOUS ABSORPTION TO REACH THE TARGET SITE

The esterification reaction improves the lipophilicity of the molecule and thus its absorption through the skin barrier, that is impermeable to active ingredients of many other topical formulations. Moreover, the transcutaneous penetration, is also guaranteed thanks to the low molecular weight.

Thanks to the mechanical stabilization of the membrane, the therapeutic massage with Cetilar® is able to reduce joint and muscle-skeletal pain.

This allows the restoring of skeletal-muscle function and recover the range of movement.

Moreover, the fatty acids enrich the synovial membrane with essential constituents, allowing the physiological activity of the synovial fluid, that represents nutrition for cartilages.
